PARENT GUIDE
Making Sense of it All is designed to help parents of children and young people with SEND aged 0-25 in West Sussex learn how to get the support they need for their child and family.
The book is firmly established as a must have guide for parents in West Sussex and is sometimes referred to as the “parent-carer bible”. Since we first published Making Sense of it All in 2012 we have distributed over 20,000 copies.
The latest edition of our book combines content from our transition guide, Making Sense of Adult Life (now discontinued), to provide a comprehensive resource for parents relevant to every stage of your child or young person’s journey.
The book covers a range of subjects from early years and diagnosis to school and college and transition to adult life. In between there is content on looking after you, benefits & money matters, education, getting support from health and social care, local leisure opportunities, adolescence and independent living. It also contains a directory of over 400 local and national organisations and an extensive jargon buster.
Making Sense of it All is available to parents free of charge in both paperback (plus £2.50 postage & packing) and eBook format. The paperback can be ordered via PayPal, and the eBook can be downloaded directly to your Kindle, iBooks or other eBook device. Please see the relevant links below.
